You can delete your lockmeout.online account at any time. This applies to the website and to the lockmeout.online apps for iOS and Android. They all use the same account.
Option 1: Delete it yourself (immediate)
- Sign in on lockmeout.online, or open the App tab in the lockmeout.online app.
- Open the menu and go to Settings (/account/settings).
- Under Delete Account, tap Delete my account and confirm.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.
Option 2: Ask us to delete it (no sign-in needed)
If you cannot sign in, email contact@lockmeout.online from the email address of your account and ask us to delete it. We handle deletion requests within 30 days and may need to verify that the account is yours.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently and immediately removes:
- Your account and its email address
- All your locks and their secrets, including images you uploaded for image locks
- Your stakes and your buddy connections
- The devices registered for push notifications (push token, device name and model)
There is no grace period, and a deleted account cannot be restored.
What is kept, and for how long
A small amount of data is not removed at the moment of deletion. It is deleted automatically afterwards:
- Sign-up requests (the email address, IP address and device information sent with the sign-up form) are deleted 7 days after sign-up.
- Backups are purged on a rolling 30-day cycle.
- Server logs, which may contain an IP address, are rotated out within 31 days.
