AI integration (MCP)

lockmeout.online speaks MCP, the Model Context Protocol, so an AI assistant like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or GitHub Copilot can work with your locks for you. Ask it what is still locked and when it opens, have it set up a new lock with a freshly generated password, or start and stop a countdown, all in plain words.

The usual rules still apply: once a lock is locked, your assistant can't get the secret back either. It opens exactly the way you set it up.

1. Create an API token

Your assistant signs in with an API token instead of your password. Each token belongs to your account, and you can delete it at any time.

  1. Open Settings and scroll down to API tokens.
  2. Click Create token, give it a name you'll recognize and pick how long it stays valid.
  3. Copy the token. We show it only this once; if you lose it, simply create a new one.

2. Add it to your assistant

Run this in your terminal, with your token in place of YOUR_TOKEN. The token dialog shows the same command with your token already filled in.

claude mcp add --transport http lockmeout https://lockmeout.online/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"

This adds lockmeout to the project you are in. Add --scope user to have it in all your projects.

Check that Claude Code can reach it:

claude mcp listChecking MCP server health…

lockmeout: https://lockmeout.online/api/mcp (HTTP) - ✔ Connected

Inside Claude Code, /mcp shows the same.

3. Try it

Start your assistant and just ask, for example:

Which of my locks are still locked, and when do they open?
Create a password lock called Instagram that opens Sunday at 8 pm. Generate the password and leave it in preview.
Start the countdown on my Netflix lock.
Give me the share link of my newest lock.

New locks start in preview, so you can look them over on their page before they are locked, by you or by your assistant.

Expiry & revoking

Delete a token in Settings and any assistant using it loses access right away. A token with an expiry date stops working on that date; we email you 14 days, 3 days and 24 hours before, so you can create a new one in time. You can have up to 10 tokens at once.

To take lockmeout out of Claude Code again:

claude mcp remove lockmeout

In Codex and VS Code, delete the lockmeout entry from the config file.
